BIOPHILIC WORKSPACE - Hyderabad.
BRIEF –
A start-up in the renewable energy sector, backed by producers of thermal and hydro power. Their requirements was to create an office that is inspiring and leans on green aspects.
Summarizing, we designed based on the brief “A gen Z workspace which harmoniously blends the functional necessities of a modern workspace with the timelessness of classical materials coupled with time-tested ambience inherent to Indic values of our cultural heritage.”
INITIAL THOUGHTS BY US – A gen Z workspace which harmoniously blends the functional necessities of a modern workspace with the timelessness of sustainable materials coupled with time-tested ambience inherent to Indic values of our cultural heritage.
DESIGN INTENT – Designing a Bio-philic work space for GenZ, which harmoniously blends the functional necessities of a modern workspace, while being vastu compliant, with the timelessness of natural sustainable materials coupled with time-tested ambience inherent to Indic values of our cultural heritage.
IMPLEMENTATION OF SOLUTION THROUGH OUR INSPIRATION –
– THE CORTYARD – Amongst the most transformative and evocative space in this premises. This space casts beautiful shadows of trees which move up to the conference table top, creating vivid, vibrant and surreal ambience. The space is now used during the day and post dusk, whenever, anyone wants a break or a quick chat, or just some feel of freshness for rejuvenation. It serves as a human
charging port.
– STEPPED INFORMAL SEATING – This informal seating arrangement, allows for increased seating capacity at the lobby. The youthful work force here, prefer using this space for serious team discussions as well as for pep talk. The location is such that we ensured that the windows to the north enables the users to experience the foliage and its movement from indoors, engaging them. Presence of charging and utilities enables users to operate informally from here. This refreshing aspect is intrinsic to our bio-philic design.
– SAPTAMANDALA INTERACTIVE PARTITION – The design program commenced with incorporating an abstract representation of the SAPTARISHIS through our interpretation as the SAPTAMANDALA as the 7th Saptarishi is after whom this firm is named. Saptha refers to Seven.(7 mandalas) This composition of Mandalas is the inviting interactive, rotatable element at the entrance lobby. It has seven rotatable intricately carved mandalas, depicting the Saptarishis, mirrored by textured rotatable disks, to enhance the details on the carved mandalas. Thus, this Saptamandala Interactive partition, with linen sandwiched glass panels to one side, is curated for a space intended to serve and develop as an exclusive, bio-philic, modern work-space for Gen Z in tune with the
trends of now.
– SENIOR MANAGERS CABINS –
– The walls of the cabin, are designed such that it becomes a collage with fluted glass, cane webbing and wood imitating laminate on
the exterior while writeable laminate backs the exterior laminate.
– The requirement of semi privacy for the cabins was taken care by the play of all these materials.
– Art which is based on flora bringing in the overall language of the space.
– Layout is such that they benefit from the East light and are relatively unaffected by direct and harsh noon and post noon sun ray’s incident at Hyderabad.
