Guest House At Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh.
Client Brief –
To design a guest house for pilgrims and relatives of the donor. The built form should have the capacity to accommodate 6 families, their cars, drivers, and domestic help. Accommodation for a permanent caretaker with family had to be provided. The plush Penthouse had to be designed for the use of the primary donor only.
Our Inference from the client brief –
Balance the aspirations of the present contemporary living with the purpose and religious values of Tirumala.
We realized that there is regular pedestrian and slow vehicular traffic on both the North and South side roads, hence, In addition to the functional planning approach for internal and exterior spaces, we decided to work on the Elevations to resonate with the energy and vibes of Tirumala.
Concept Note –
Tirumala being the foremost and uninterrupted pilgrimage centre of Vaishnavite tradition for the followers of Sanathana dharma from across the planet, has its place in the history, the present, the future, tangible and intangible culture of this land.
