Design Scope –

A typical busy urban nuclear family with young adults and their parents, hence the common area where the family meets over mealtimes (dinner specifically) and casual sitting during leisure and weekends was the focal point to ensure harmony at the area of convergence of the family members. The idea was to achieve a sense of familial closeness coupled with serenity.

The double heighted space has a shallow water body accommodating aquatic life and a weeping wall lit under daylight transforms into a statement feature under artificial lighting at night.

The day-lit space physically connects the house in two levels in addition to providing a stack effect to ensure sufficient air change per hour and maximum natural ventilation through convective forces.
